Carmen Rasmusen was a Top 6 finalist on the second season of FOX’s “American Idol” in 2003.

Carmen has appeared on many talk and entertainment shows including David Letterman, the Today show, MSNBC, and Good Morning America. She was also a contestant on NBC’s “Fear Factor” and made it to the final round.

Carmen completed a nation-wide radio tour promoting her first full-length album entitled "Nothin' Like the Summer" in the summer of 2007 and released a single by the same name which she co-wrote. Her music video won the  "Pick it or Flick it" competition on CMT's Top 20 Countdown. 

Carmen has written two books, entitled "Staying in Tune" and “You are More” geared toward young women where she talks about her experiences in the entertainment industry and how her faith and values helped keep her grounded. Her books can be found at Deseret Book stores, as well as her talk on CD, “Who’s Your Idol?”

Carmen wrote the song “I am Divine” for the new Young Women's Values CD entitled “Live What You Know”.

Carmen enjoys giving firesides and speaking at youth and family conferences all over the US and Canada and has been a favorite speaker at Deseret Book’s “Time Out for Girls” tour. 

Carmen currently writes a column for the Deseret News about faith, family, entertainment, and the adventures of raising four boys with her husband. Her new single “Illuminate” is now available on iTunes.

Carmen has been happily married to her sweetheart, Brad Herbert, son of Utah Governor Gary Herbert, for almost 12 years.
