2011 Theme

From Hearts to Hands

An additional award will be given for the entry that best highlights this year’s theme.

You are invited to submit art or craft in the following mediums: painting, drawing, ceramic, metalwork, wood working, sculpture & pottery, quilting, photography and needlework.

Skill Divisions

Entries submitted will be judged in the following skill divisions:

  • Professional (taught art classes or make a living off of art work)
  • Youth (Jr. High & High School)
  • Amateur
  • Invitational

Painting/Drawing, Needlework, Quilting, Woodworking, Metalworking, Sculpture, Ceramics/Pottery, Photography, NEW THIS YEAR – TRADITIONAL/PIONEER CRAFTS

  • Theme interpretation
  • Creativity/Depth
  • Technical Proficiency / Use of medium
  • Presentation (mounted, framed, etc.)
  • Composition

Rules for Entries:

Original work only, not having been exhibited previously at the BDAC.

Entries must have been completed within the past two years (2009-2011).

Must be dry, suitably framed and ready for hanging or display. The backs of all two-dimensional entries must have wires attached for hanging of the entry; please: no sawtooth hangers.

The Art Exhibit Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry.

One accepted work from each artist will be displayed.

It is suggested that plexi-glass be used, rather than glass, as the Art Center cannot assume liability for damage to artwork framed in glass.

A receipt will be issued for artwork submitted; this receipt must be shown to retrieve the same artwork.

Oversize pieces subject to approval.

NOTE: The Bountiful/Davis Art Center will require a 30% commission for all entries sold at the exhibit.

For those artists whose work is included in the exhibit, we will post your web site when your art has been accepted for the Handcart Days Arts and Craft exhibit.
